about

During an IG conversation between Glen and Tha IronMantis, an established Rap artist from San Francisco with a huge catalogue of releases of the highest caliber, in which they were extolling their mutual love of each others work, Glen asked if he would have any interest in working on a remix of “Third Time’s The Charm”. Tha IronMantis was intrigued and excited by the idea and the project was born.

Through a collaborative collective called Slaps Family, Tha IronMantis connected with Justin JPaul Miller, from Arlington, TX, the co-owner of Lava Beat Productions whose mantra is “making dope beats with arrangements that will tell an amazing story!” and the beats he built brought a truly special touch to the collaboration.
The final member of the team was Brutha Maintain, a brilliant San Francisco Rap artist and colleague of Tha IronMantis, the two having collaborated on several earlier works together.

So we all got down to work, and the results are truly beautiful, extremely unique and incredibly special. Inspired by each other and love of the collaborative process, Crash World and all of these amazing artists have crossed genres and borders to bring something socially relevant and deeply inspiring to fruition.

Welcome to The North, West, South, East Remixes!
Two tracks that have been reinvented and through the collaborative process have achieved something truly special.
Standing on the shoulders of giants such as Nas, OutKast, Gil Scott-Heron, De La Soul & Damian Marley we are incredibly proud of this project, and now it’s time for you to hear it for yourselves…

One love,
Crash World (NORTH – Vancouver, BC)
Tha IronMantis (WEST – San Francisco, CA)
Brutha Maintain (WEST – San Francisco, CA)
Justin JPaul Miller (SOUTH - Arlington, TX)
Trav Da Poet (EAST – New York City, NY)

lyrics

Lyrics:
Crash World:
A stately rose, glorious flower
Slowly fading, hour by hour
Still so mysterious, by candle light
Heavy lidded eyes, another night
We’ve lived it long, we’ve lived it well
And this is our, story to tell

Tha IronMantis:
Ears open eyes closed pay attention to the role we all actors in this epic just trying to reach our goals
These hardships affect our souls we're just trying to fit the mold while we hope to gain control
These are the stories untold but still lessons learned the times we got burned too close to the fire
Keeping warm was my concern so I can make it through the night another day to see the light
Make some moves and roll the dice pick em up and roll em twice righting my wrongs in life
And pray you take me back cause I've been thinking I was happier when you were by my side
Fell victim to my pride I had to look inside my heart to see the truth is you that I'll never deny
Maybe you'll find that time to forgive me of my crime they say third times the charm and nothing's perfect by design baby

Crash World:
We'll try it once, we'll try it twice
If it don't work out, we’ll roll the dice
I got your back, you're on my arm
This I know darlin', third time’s the charm

Brutha Maintain:
Reminiscing on my past when I was fast lane living, went from eating burritos to tablecloths with linen
Gettin' money and women, smash and grabs the mission, aiming for the stars with talent and ambition
But ego clouded my vision I ain't tryin' to listen, when O.G. told me I needed to chill for a minute
Even though I don't admit it, the snitchin' that said I did it, got me talking on the phone and through the glass on a visit
A cool minute the next I was prepped to step and I did, out into the world once again with an idea
Focused on the task at hand and my mind clear, gettin' in tons before I'm done with my time here
But once again when I was ridin' high, I made a left when I shoulda made a right and I
Got caught up in some bullshit that I deny, still I'm back in court watching as my Mama cries
Lucky me P.D. handled the evidence wrong, now I'm free once again with a plan to move on
Gotta keep my head up and stay strong, I know it won't be long, til' I'm back in action and it's crackin' again
No more L's, time to snatch me a win and then celebrate
Excel and celebrate, take a chance

Crash World:
We'll try it once, we'll try it twice
If it don't work out, take my advice
I got your back, you're on my arm
This I know darlin', third time’s the charm

This life will leave its scars
But without love we ain't going very far
You know that I remember skipping stones across the lake
Thinking back makes my poor heart ache
